About my process: The most tedious part of creating this poster was taking this image and just extracting the island part. I free-hand lasso'd the main island and surrounding islands in 1 go then proceeded to go around the edges with the brush to clean up the mask and make sure everything was included. I then had to get rid of the words on the map which used the clone stamp to get rid of each letter and blend in the surrounding pixels with the map
